يتناول البحث مناقشة قضية من قضايا الاستشراق، وهي افتراءات المستشرقين على معاملة الرسول e ليهود المدينة، وقد تناول المستشرق الفرنسي "مکسيم رودنسون" ذلک من خلال کتابه "محمد"، والذى زعم أنَّه التزم الحياد والموضوعية في کتابه، وأنَّه بذلک خالف من سبقه من المستشرقين، وتناول البحث قضية طرد يهود بني قينقاع من المدينة، وادِّعاء المستشرق بأن المسلمين استغلوا ضعف اليهود المادِّيِّ، منافيًا بذلک کلامه فيما بعد بأن سبب الطرد کان للاستيلاء على أموالهم، کما تناول أسباب أخرى لطرد اليهود من المدينة، منها حرمان عبدالله بن أبي بن سلول من القوات المساندة له، وکيف عذبهم الرسول r وقطع عنهم الطعام والإمدادات، وأن قضية المرأة کانت بمثابة القشَّة التي قصمت ظهر البعير، وهي من القضايا التافه التي يستند إليها العرب لأجل إقامة الحروب، وقد کان من الممکن تسوية الوضع دون ذلک العنف، وقد حلَّل المستشرق هذه القضية وغيرها على هواه دون التقيد بالمنهج العلمي وتم تفنيد هذه الادعاءات وتحليلها وسياقه الأدلة من الکتب الحديثية وکتب السيرة النبوية التي تنفي هذه الافتراءات وتعلل ما حدث.
